Signs marketing and distribution agreement with ITRIS Medical AG for the full line of professional non-invasive high-tech thermometers for hospitals and healthcare institutions

Exergen Corporation, a global leader in infrared temperature measurement technologies for medical applications, announced today that it has signed a marketing and distribution contract with ITRIS Medical AG to market the professional series Temporal Artery Thermometers (TAT-5000S-EC) in Switzerland.

“Swiss hospitals and healthcare institutions are world famous because of the quality of their medical services”, says Dr. Joaquin Azpilicueta MD., Exergen’s Sales Director Europe and LATAM. “ITRIS Medical AG sold Mindray’s line of vital signs monitors in Switzerland during the last years very successfully. They are already very familiar with our Temporal Artery Thermometer because Mindray integrates the connected version of our Temporal Artery Thermometer in their spot monitors. We are very excited that we are now able to work very closely with ITRIS Medical AG when it comes to our standalone TAT-50000S-EC thermometers as well. Together we will be able to support hospitals and care institutions in Switzerland even better”.

“ITRIS Medical AG is based in Spreitenbach, Switzerland”, says General Manager Ernst Lang of ITRIS Medical EG. “Our company is a high-quality supplier of medical products and was founded 17 years ago. We are part of the ITRIS Group which consists of two divisions: Medical and IT. Both divisions cover everything from sales and installation to service, maintenance, and repair of equipment in each specific area. Although all companies are specialized in their own fields, they work closely together which made us become the trusted partner of many hospitals and professional care institutions in Switzerland”, he added.

Highly Accurate, Non-Invasive

The professional series Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometers are based on a very innovative infrared technology. They offer many advantages over more traditional methods of determining a patient’s body temperature:

-highly accurate temperature measurement (1000x per second)

-fast, safe, and comfortable for the patient (a very accurate measurement takes 2-3 seconds)

-non-invasive and quick and easy to use for doctors and nurses

-low costs, resulting in an average payback period of less than 1 year

-very durable because of an internally developed housing made of superplastic

-can be used without throw-away sensor caps to avoid unnecessary waste and costs; of course, caps are available if required

-due to its industrial design the professional Exergen TAT-5000S-EC are covered by a lifetime warranty

-the connected version of the Temporal Artery Thermometer (TAT-5000S) has been integrated by many well-known vendors into their vital signs monitors
